Look past the fact that this is an awesome shock tab. The length makes it a great blank tab for a lot of things. The 1/4" thickness and 1/2" hole make it great for the pin stop on the T handle pull pins. Great antenna mount if you have a huge whip with a spring. The length lends itself to so many applications because you can cut and bevel as needed. Also works as a great pivot for collapsible light mounts. The .25 thickness will not egg shape nearly as fast. Add a weld washer, bomb proof.
