SKU: R2803 Rear Bumper for Jeep XJ
Protecting the rear of your Jeep XJ from trail damage shouldn't mean sacrificing style, and our new rear bumper delivers on both fronts. Designed with off-roaders in mind, it's packed with features to handle whatever the trail throws at you. One of the best upgrades? Finally having two strong recovery points at the rear of your rig. Say goodbye to the frustration of wrapping a strap around your leaf spring or shackle. Our 1" thick clevis mounts pass all the way through the bumper, tying directly into the included frame tie-in brackets. These mounts aren't just for show-they're made for real trail recoveries, where the stock mounts just don't cut it.
Speaking of mounting, we know how frustrating it can be when aftermarket parts don't fit quite right. That's why we've included a two-piece adjustable mounting system, letting you dial in the perfect fit to match your XJ's body. It's solid, reliable, and looks like it belongs there. To top it off, we've thought about lighting too. Whether you're running high-dollar pods or budget lights from Amazon, the adjustable mounting brackets for 2x3" light pods let you aim them right where you need them. Backing up on a dark trail? Problem solved.
We also raised the 2" hitch receiver by 3" over the factory location, giving you better departure angles and keeping it out of harm's way. While it's not rated for towing, it's gusseted internally to handle bike racks, ice chest carriers, or other gear you need to bring along. And because trail repairs are just part of the deal, we added dedicated high-lift jack pockets for safer and easier use when you're out there fixing what the trail broke.
This bumper is built for serious trail use but keeps convenience and versatility in mind. Whether you're crawling rocks, hitting muddy backroads, or just heading to the campsite, this is the bumper you want on your XJ. It's strong, reliable, and loaded with features that make life easier for those of us who like to tackle challenges head-on.
To get the frame tie-in brackets installed, you'll need a few tools: a pneumatic body saw or a die grinder with a cutting wheel, along with the usual safety gear like gloves and safety glasses. Once you've got those ready, here's what you do:
First, locate the two oval holes on the rear crossmember of the frame-they're right between the bumper mounting holes. These are the cutouts you'll be enlarging. Use your body saw or die grinder to carefully cut the sheet metal. Follow the inside edge of the frame rail as your guide. The key here is to make sure there's no leftover material obstructing the bottom or sides of the cutouts. The frame tie-in brackets need to bolt flush against the frame, so take your time and make the cuts clean and precise. A little extra attention here makes the final assembly much easier.
